EZGPSGolf

 

What is it ?

 

EZGPSGolf is a java program that display the distance to the center of the green from your current position.

It works on almost every mobile phone and uses an external GPS devices (cost in ebay 40-50 euro) connected via Bluetooth

 

 

 

 

Requirements.

 

·        Mobile Phone that supports Java ()

·        Mobile Phone that supports Bluetooth

·        Internet access to download program directly to phone (can also be downloaded to PC and synchronized)

 

This program has been tested on the following phones

·        Nokia                          ok

·        Benq/Siemens             ok

·        Sony/Ericsson              ok

·        Motorola                     on some phones it does not work

·        Samsung                      on some phones it does not work

 

 

Installation

 

The following instructions are based on a Nokia Mobile Phone.

 

For other phones please refer to the your manual

 

Step 1. Download program from internet directly to the phone:

 

·        Goto gpsgolf.biz

·        Select "Download EZGPSGolf directly to your mobile here"

·        Wait until the download is finished (write down where the program has been downloaded to)

·        Open the program

·        Press the middle joystick to get the menu (if it does not work try key 5)

·        Go down to exit (use button 2 and 8 to scoll up and down)

Step 2.

 

Pair your Mobile Phone and the external GPS via Bluetooth

 

·        Turn Bluetooth ON

·        Turn on GPS device

·        Pair a new device

·        Enter the required passcode ( 0000 or 1234 )

·        After this is done the GPS device  should appear on the list of paired devices

·        Select Options -> Auto connect without confirmation for the GPS device

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 3.

 

Change access right of the downloaded program

 

·        Go to Programs -> Games or Collection

·        Select the GPsGolf Program

·        Select Options -> Application access

·        Comunication -> Connectivity –always allowed (or ask first time only)

·        Data access -> Add and edit data -> Ask every time

·        Data access -> Read user data -> ask every time

Step 4: Define Bluetooth device for GPSgolf

 

Change access right of the downloaded program

 

·        Make sure your GPS device has an accurate position (most of GPS devices indicate this by an amber flashing light)

·        Start the GPSGolf program

·        Enter the activation code (9999 will enable holes 1,3,5,…)

·        Select the middle button to start setup (or key 5)

·        Select setup GPS (scroll up down with keypad or buttons 2 and 8)

·        Select Find GPS device

·        After 10-20 secods a list of Bluetooth device will appear , including all mobile phones in your area

·        Select the one that has somewhere GPS in the name

·        After a couple of seconds a message “Connecting to GPS” will appear on the screen 

·        After a couple of seconds a message “Getting GPS Position ” will appear on the screen 

·        If the color of the text changes to blue it’s all done and you should have a distance reading to the center

of the green of hole 1 of course St Leon in GC St Leon Rot.
